I totally disapeared from this blog, I’m sorry!
I have some really big news to share:
- I moved from California to UK
- Because of the voltage difference between the two countries, I needed to sell my sewing machine, and I can’t afford a new one right now.
So I’m giving up

This is the last project of my sewing marathon ! Actually, I did this one before the brooch … but anyway, this is almost the last project of March 2010. I already did 1/4 of the calendar !!!
I don’ t use shower caps, I don’ t find shower caps attractive or useful. As you probably guessed, I was not excited about this project. I chose the cheesiest fabric I had, and some lining that I usually use for wet bags fr my son’s diapers : I know it won’t leak ! Anyway, I didn’ t put too much effort in this project but the result came out great !
My son loves it and plays with it. I may try it once just to see how it feels, but don’ t expect me to take a picture of the cap on my head
I just have for now the picture of the preparation step. I will come back with the result one later this week.
Here is the picture of the preparation :
I’m done for today, I hope you enjoyed the last few posts !

I was excited about this project ! I chose the same fabric than my bumper for my sewing desk : I want to use the basket to keep my desk empty. Just by looking at the picture, I was expecting a bigger basket, so I’m a little disappointed by the size, but the result still looks great !
The tutorial is well explained. I did a mistake though : don’ t sew the corner with the square shape !!

I imagined this project to be super fast and easy … I went to Walmart today and go some ric rac ribbon. I planed to spend about 30 minutes on it but surprisingly I needed way more time ! It requires patience
I didn’t use a button or a pompom in the middle : I didn’t have anything that would have matched. The result looks pretty nice ! I just need a pin so I can wear it !

What do you think? I really like it

Do you remember the Matyroshka doll ? Well, I didn’ t improve myself …
I really tried to make it work but I think it’ s too small for me .. So next time that a project like this one shows up in the calendar, I will double the proportions so it doesn’t turn out to be a disaster.
Well, the pictures …
Preparation :
And the (crap) result … I added a little mice or whatever it is so at least something looks OK in the picture

Sorry I didn’t update my blog earlier. I had a bunch of work, a sick baby to take care of, and lots of different errances to run.
But I’m back ! I originally planned to tell you that I needed to skip a few projects, but I actually finished all of the late ones tonight except the brooch one : I first need to get the ribbon.
I’m too lazy to upload the pictures tonight but I will come back very soon !!

I’m late for this project : my son was sick and I didn’thave time to work on it earlier. My son is actually still sick, so I had to take a day off from work. I did this project during his nap and I did it for him !
I was not as careful as Sarah was: I didn’t sew the ribbons first. I just pined them on the first fabric, put the second one on top and sewed everything together, on the wrong side. I just left an opening, returned to the right side and removed the pins. Finally, I seamed all over again and that’s it !

What do you think? The pattern will match the stuffed animal (elephant) I did for my baby a few months ago

I’m very busy at work right now so this was the perfect project : three minutes total … I have a witness, who even accepted to be my model to present the result of this project!
So, without any more comment (what else to say?)

Here is another project ! Quick, simple and nice result ! I didn’t need any invitation but I found a way to transform the project into something working for me
I changed my mind between the beginning of the process and the final result …

And here here the result, with a totally different pattern :
it was a nice experience, however, I’m not sure I would create sewn invitations for a wedding : it would probably take too much time …. I mean, I did some custom invitations for my wedding, it took me forever …
By the way, I love the website : lots of nice ideas !
